Doña Paula transmits with her wines the most faithful expression of each terroir defined by the characteristics of the climate and the soil of the region. The respect and knowledge of the place of origin of our grapes are the first fruits that guide the elaboration of our wines.

Doña Paula currently has 703 hectares of vineyards, located in the best areas of Mendoza:

  • Ugarteche - Lujan de cuyo.
  • Gualtallary - Tupungato.
  • Cordón del Plata - Tupungato.
  • Altamira - San Carlos.

In each vineyard we sought the ideal combination of climate and soil for each variety.

DOÑA PAULA ALLUVIA PARCEL

Variety: 100% Malbec

Vineyard: FINCA ALLUVIA, Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza.

Gualtallary, is considered one of the best regions of Argentina for the production of premium wines. This is the highest altitude vineyard of Doña Paula located at 1350 meters above sea level. The soil is very poor, rocky and mineral with large amount of calcium carbonate. The climate is very cool with temperate days and cold nights. The average rainfall is 280 mm / year. The Malbec of this zone is of intense color, firm tannins, aromas of black fruits and good acidity.

For this wine is selected 2.40 Ha of planting No. 8, of a density of 2060 plants per hectare.

Yield: 1500 kg per hectare.

Harvest: Manual. First week of April

Vinification: This wine is a product of microvinification in small containers and very limited raw material. When entering the winery, the grape goes through a double manual selection, first of bunches and soon of grains. Then it is taken to a special room with temperature below 20 ° C, where the alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the malolactic fermentation. The post-fermentative maceration is 15 to 20 days. The wine is withdrawn from the buckets and transported to French oak barrels, 50% new, in which the aging is carried out for 20 to 22 months. This traditional method allows a delicate treatment of the grape, since all processes are made by gravity.

Tasting Notes: Doña Paula Alluvia Parcel Malbec has a deep violet-black color and intense, pure aromas of black fruits such as blackberry, cranberry and raspberry combined with floral and spicy notes, along with marked mineral aromas like graphite. In the mouth it has a great structure very mineral and fresh. Of well-marked and firm tannins, it has a very persistent finish.
