A remarkable expression of high-altitude Malbec from Gualtallary, one of Mendoza’s most renowned terroirs. Huentala Calizo Albar Block 06 comes from vineyards planted at approximately 1,400 meters above sea level, where calcareous soils contribute remarkable freshness, minerality, and structure.
The 2023 vintage has received outstanding international recognition, including 97 points and a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge 2026, where it also received the Mendoza Malbec Trophy, Argentinian Malbec Trophy, and Argentinian Red Trophy. It was subsequently named IWC Champion Red Wine 2026, the competition’s global champion red wine.
Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Deep, intense violet-red with brilliant color and excellent concentration.
Nose:
Expressive and complex, revealing layers of black fruits, ripe plum, blackcurrant, herbs, and spices, complemented by subtle earthy and mineral notes characteristic of Gualtallary’s calcareous soils.
Palate:
Rich and beautifully textured, with a generous, almost silky mouthfeel balanced by remarkable freshness. Ripe black fruit and plum mingle with spicy and earthy nuances. The tannins are firm, refined, and well integrated, providing structure and depth without overwhelming the fruit.
Finish:
Long, persistent, and elegant, leaving a distinctive combination of dark fruit, spice, freshness, and mineral character.
