COBOS MALBEC

Intense ruby red color with dark violet hues. The nose displays cassis, juicy red plums and bramble, with hints of cardamom and tobacco. The palate has broad structure and lush tannins with a persistent finish.

VINEYARD

Marchiori Estate. 3,264 feet (995 meters). Cane pruned vineyard. Traditional furrow irrigation. Well-developed radical system among all the profile. This wine comes from block C2, from vines of more than 80 years old.

SOIL

Deep soils, upper strata of clay-loam to sandy-loam, and substrata of river-washed cobbles and round stones. 

GROWING SEASON

In the 2014-2015 cycle, the harvest took place two weeks earlier as a result of the season’s climatic conditions. During ripening months, the average temperature was above historical record. This cycle was characterized by high humidity, widespread general instability. The wines of the 2015 vintage show elegance, medium body, delicacy and low alcohol content; they exhibit vivacious and expressive fruit with balanced acidity. This year the expression of each zone and variety stands out, showing the unique characteristics of each terroir with great aromatic richness. Yield is of 2.0 tons per acre.

AGING & BOTTLING

Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels Taransaud (100%). Bottled in December 2016. Unfined and unfiltered.

TASTING NOTES

Intense red with violet hues. The nose shows notes of tobacco, black and red fruits, quince, white pepper and clove. In the palate, is long, soft buut complex and elegant, with silky tannins that leads to a long, intense finish.
